Week 12 Journal Entry

This week as I studied the readings and the videos I learned a lot about making things personal; not overlooking our trials, but using them to our benefit from learning from them. I loved the talk by President Uchtdorf about how we at times lose sight of what is important in our lives and what can truly make us happy. This bodes well with business because after all, the entire point of being an entrepreneur is to seek happiness not only for yourself, but those that you love. I learned a lot from the case study as well. It was interesting to learn about the various companies that were considered for purchase. If I were them, I ultimately would have chosen the Richmond Premium Snacks because it was the lowest asking price of the four companies and had much more room for growth. They could expand their sales even further in the country outside of mainly the Midwest. They could make agreements with bigger companies to sell their snacks like Walmart or Target. Overall, it just seemed like the right fit for what they were looking for.
